Your Birth Workers
Kathryn Koncewicz RN, BSN, RNC-OB, cBE, SBD
Hi! My name is Kathryn. I am a wife, mother of two beautiful girls, and a nurse. I have been in the birth world for 13 years as a high risk labor and delivery nurse. I love teaching families about the birthing process and have realized how important it is to be prepared for your birth. As much as I love caring for my patients at the bedside, I continuously see that there is a lack of education being provided to patients in the office and even with hospital based childbirth classes. I decided it was time to make a change and am now a certified childbirth educator and doula. I want to take my passion of educating out of the hospital and provide families with knowledge to advocate for the birth they want.
My own birthing experiences also opened my eyes as to how little I knew about the postpartum period and the changes that happen which is. They are another reason why I decided to pursue becoming a childbirth educator. Postpartum is a challenging time and many are not prepared. Maternal mental health disorders are rarely spoken about but one of the most common illnesses in the postpartum period. My childbirth classes will cover how to navigate this new period, when to seek help, and gives tools to your partner on how to support you during this major change.
